Aggression Management Solutions in Executive Protection
Can you really protect you client from an Assassin?

Introduction

Just 2 Seconds, an excellent, well researched, book by Gavin de Becker, Tom Taylor and Jeff Marquart, illustrates the critical time between the assassin's Moment of Commitment, the protector's Moment of Recognition and, of course, the Moment of Completion.  The research is explicit; if you -- the protector -- are 15 feet away from the assassin you have only an 18% chance of protecting your client.  If you are 7 feet away from the assassin you have only a 45% chance of protecting your client. Only when you are within-an-arms-length from this assailant and you are completely "in the now", can you offer a 98% chance of protection. If your mind is at all distracted, your percentages drop like a rock!

What's the application?

Just 2 Seconds explains the importance of getting ahead of the assassin's Moment of Commitment, trying to identify behavior that might be precursors to the Moment of Commitment. These precursors are too often subjective methods requiring considerable intuition and experience, placing the protector, the company and the client at risk for law suits.

Let us introduce you to the "Moment of Intent."

Realizing that 81% of assassinations are perpetrated within 25 feet of their victim, this is an assassin who realizes he or she will not escape -- they will either be captured or killed.  This is, by our definition, either a Combatant or Terrorist (murder/suicide).   When any individual rises to the level of committing their life for a cause their body and behavior take on very specific indicators that permit us to identify them, even before they arrive on scene.

Making your client safer-

The Center for Aggression Management's Primal and Cognitive Aggression Continua, along with advanced covert surveillance,  permit the Protection Professional a significant increase in their ability to identify and get-close-enough to an assailant to fully protect their client.  Because these Primal and Cognitive Aggression indicators are culturally-neutral and measurable they move you, your company and your client closer to legal defensibility for actions taken.

The glaring truth learned in Just 2 Seconds is the need for measurable observables prior to the assassin's Moment of Commitment so that you can prevent, not react, to an assailants actions.  Come learn more about the Moment of Intent and thereby how to prevent harm to your client.

Bob Duggan of ESI speaks to the value Aggression Management in Executive Protection:

Aggression Management for Protection Professionals differs from others in the market in that it will provide participants with the insights and skills to recognize agitation and aggression well before it is obvious and apparent to everyone else. The hidden symptoms of aggression in its early stages or the not-so-apparent signs of violence when it is deliberately being concealed are not easily detectable using standard assessment methods. Knowing WHAT to detect and HOW to discern aggression under these conditions is vital if protection professionals are to proactively intervene upon such deceptive aggressors.
