
Dennis J. Kowalski, Ed.D.
Dr. Kowalski has been an educator for the past 33 years. He received his undergraduate degree in biology at Kent State University. He completed certification requirements and a master's degree in Educational Administration at Cleveland State University and his doctorate at the University of Akron with a cognate area of study of psychology. He was an elementary classroom teacher having experience in grades 1-6 during a five-year period at the beginning of his career. He was a building principal for 17 years serving as an elementary, middle, and secondary principal. He was assistant superintendent in the Strongsville City Schools for four years, after which he was appointed superintendent where he serves the Strongsville School community in Strongsville, Ohio until his retirement in August of 2002.
During his experiences, he spent time in the Cleveland City Schools and a bordering suburb, Warrensville Heights. His career spans experiences in the urban, low-income areas, as well as his current position in a middle to upper middleclass suburb.
After completing his doctorate at the University of Akron, he was asked to teach part time. He has continued to teach as an adjunct professor at the University of Akron, Cleveland State University, and Ashland University since 1988. His teaching includes graduate studies in learning and leadership courses. As Dr. K puts it, "His contact with graduate students on the cutting edge."
